I'm not interested in buying this because I have 2 of them already.

I thought I'd pass on though is recently I've noticed when I was looking for reloading equipment for someone else is that many kits these days do-not come with a beam scale any longer. They've been replaced by digital scales; Dillon no longer list them on their website as being available. Digital scales are great but like most everything they have their shortcomings too.

I ran across a gentleman who calibrates these things for a modest fee and provides known value calibration weights to check against. The one that I ended up with is just like this one. AIRC, he preferred the older model scales as the newer ones weren't as good in his opinion.

Thought I'd pass that on and good luck with the sale if you opt to get rid of it.

Jim,
I would not be selling this scale if I didn't have already have an M5 and a 10-10 scale. Both new old stock, never used when I bought them.
Finding these excellent scales new/unused is like hens teeth now.
I think the better electronic scales are great, but you better have something to check their accuracy.
The gent that calibrates these scales. Are you referring to Scott Parker from Bakersfield?
I have owned and used his "tuned" scales. His work is nothing short of excellent.
Someone on one of these shooter/reloader sites will be real happy when they buy this one.

Like my buddy Jim above, I also use the Ohaus M5 and have been since around 1980. I gave up on my Dillon electronic scale, never would hold zero, changed readings with no warning whatever. It now sits on a shelf covered, and my M5 gets all the weighing chores.

As has been said, modern stuff has some advantages, but the 'old school' equipment always seems to work, and work over time. If I needed a scale, this is the one I'd jump on.

I bet thousands of the old Ohaus scale is still owned and used by so many of us old time reloaders. I know I still use mine, can not remember when I bought it for sure, but had to be in the 60's. They just do not fail and keep ticking ( Pun intended) :D

Gents,
We are all on the same page with these time proven scales. I have a V4 trickler with an A & D FX 120i scale on order.
https://ceproducts.shop/products/deposi ... -d-fx-120i
But I will always check the electronic scale for accuracy with the M5 and the 10-10.
The M5 that I am selling is every bit as clean as the M5 I am keeping, it is new old stock, never used until I bought it.
For me it's kind of fun to take something that old out of the box for the first time.

Dave, that's exactly who I got mine from and I've never looked back. Anybody new to reloading or just looking for a good scale, this would be one to have.

Jim,
Yes I believe any reloader would be happy to own this one. I was playing with it today and was delighted with how fluid it would move and always came right back to zero. I have owned several beam scales while I figured out what works for me, but none that are as nice as the M5. Great tools are a lasting investment. Makes hand loading that much more fun.
