Seecamp LWS .380

Post by skipper »

Anyone have experience with this little Seecamp pocket pistol? I'm interested in having it or something similar for deep concealment. Thanks

Skipper, yes I do have some experience with the neat little Seecamp LWS. Mine came home prior to the introduction of the .380 chambering around 1995, so it's the .32acp. With WW Silvertips, it's still a potent little micro package that is perfect in summer wearing surf jams when any other weapon would not be practical.

In all the years I've had mine, it has never failed in any way. PITA to disassemble, but this is not something that you'll take to the range weekly to shoot and clean, so no big deal as far as I'm concerned. Absolute stellar workmanship, fit and finish, and 100% stainless steel. Something to consider in your geographical location.

Mine with two other 'micro' EDC's, my Kimber Micro 9 and my SIG P938, also 9mm:

The LWS .380 is slightly larger overall than the .32, but would be the obvious choice going in fresh, at least to me. Excellent little pistols, and light years ahead in all regards to something like the Ruger LCP .380. No comparison whatsoever. Two thumbs up! :D

Skipper Ruger has a new model out, very small, yet easy to shoot comfortable. And it will carry deep, hip pocket, etc. Check that one out. Goes for around $300.00, I believe. 9mm. Bill K :)

I have a Ruger LCP. I'm not to terribly fond of the thing. It has laser red dot that is always dead. The design is compact, flat, and small but I just can't warm up to it.

Skipper, think of it like this.....

Ruger LCP: Kia

Seecamp: BMW/Porsche

You get what you pay for, this is a prime example. Both work as advertised, but there IS a difference........

Gunbroker is your friend. Eventually what you're after seems to eventually turn up.

A sidenote: In the movie "Con Air", a Seecamp LWS is the weapon smuggled onto the plane for nefarious use by a bad guy DEA agent in his sock. Never seen one in the movies prior to this. Sweet, well-made little pistols. Hope you find one.
