204 ReLoading blocks

Is anyone partial to 1 brand of loading blocks for the 204? I kinda hate the universal fit ones. Thanks

Personally, I like the bleacher style loading blocks. Makes access to each case easier. I think Midsouth sells them.

Some of the reloading blocks get expensive. I started making my own. For my 20 VarTarg rounds, my reloading block is 1 1/4 x 5 1/2 x 10 1/2. I use 2 pieces of 1/2 plywood with a 1/4 plywood bottom. Each case is easy to reach, and they drop right in. Plus the hole is drilled so there is very little movement when the case is sitting inside the block. You can also make the bleacher style blocks just as easy. A drill press is the main tool you need.

I love anything wood. And would prefer the type/style you show, or the bleacher type. But having none of the equipment to do so, a drill press mainly, I just buy and use the other's. Those you made look very nice. Bill K

I've got a full set of wood blocks dating from the early 1970's, a very nice set of alloy blocks made by Brad at CRT, but my favorite set is made right here in town and sold by Nosler. T-6 alloy, anodized, precise fit and finish, and nicer than needed for the intended purpose. I just like nice stuff.



jimreed: Nice job. I made a set like yours about 30 years ago from industrial-grade Masonite. Heavy, machines well, and very robust. I've more loading blocks accumulated over time around my gun room than I'll ever use. Can't imagine a shortage of loading blocks here.
