Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge
Yes Bill-that's the evil AR. Actually, I removed all the evil features so now it's just another semi-auto with an ugly stock. 24" Shilen stainless bull barrel, Geissele G2S trigger (wish it had a lighter secondary break), Anderson Lower and upper and an adjustable gas block. I see the target thru the 6.5-20 Vortex Viper scope which I really like. For ammo, I finally settled on 28.5 gr. of BL-C2, 32 gr. SBK's, 7.5 Rem. primers and Norma brass. It's been my go-to round time after time but one of these days I've got to switch to lead free for the sake of all those condors we have up here. The Barnes Varmint Grenade's aren't too bad but they vary so much in overall length and weight that I have to separate them. They're suppose to be 26 gr. but most are 26.2. I've had weight ranges from 25.8-26.3 and don't get me started on overall length. Sorry, that's my rant but good luck to everyone who is participating in the 5 shot challenge and many thanks to Skipper for handling all the details. Randy.

That still could be a pretty good group. Time will tell. Bill K

Nice to see some of those "not so perfect", targets. It makes me feel like mine were ok,also. (I'm not referring to any recent posts, just overall.)

All will be fun and interesting. All of us need remember, no matter how are target is, it will beat some and lose to some. But remember it is for fun and giving us each something to try and better, next time we shoot. Bill K

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge
Except for 2 that is. One will not beat anyone and one will not lose to anyone. Just shot mine and it might be on the low end of that. Oh well. It was fun.
NEXT YEAR!
I'm gonna start a redemption tread for anyone like myself that want to show what there rifle can really do. A monthly shoot will help.

Yes, you are correct there. But again, next year and a goal to beat our group is well worth it. Especially on the long gold winter days. A guy/gal can still get out some and have fun working at it and maybe another load, that is better yet. Bill K

Well, it's in the mail but I probably should have saved the postage. Talked my wife into driving 40 miles to take me to the range since I've had a headache and a fever from a head cold since Monday evening. Could cover the practice shots with a quarter so I figured this would go quick since the weather didn't look good. About then rain, wind and a herd of cattle showed up. Curious buggers they even knocked my target stand over. Needless to say the last five you might be able to cover with a dollar bill. Still enjoy the challenge and look forward to the next one. I really need to get better at this. Thanks guys.

Added the cows to my last post.
I've taken elk but not slow elk.
Question? Photo was done on my iPad and is still oriented properly there. What turned it on the computer version?

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge
Oh My God
I got a padded envelope in my mailbox and one of my eyebrows raised when I spotted it. Why would someone put their target in a padded mailing envelope??? Could it be... I raced home and carefully opened the envelope. There was no name on the target (someone read my posts) so I crosschecked with my spreadsheet to determine it was indeed ??? Then I turned my attention to the group. WOW!! I instantaneously ran for the scanner and loaded the target on my computer. Then I opened On Target and started placing the shots. When I placed the last shot I thought there was some sort of malfunction so I measured again. I ended up measuring a total of three times and took the average. .225. That's right .225 Unbelievable!!! This target is a game changer folks.

Now for the owner to come forward, that has too be the winner. Bill K
Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge
That would be mine. I wasn't aware that we needed to put our names on the targets but now that I think about it I probably should have. I'm fairly certain I put my return address on the envelope but maybe I didn't. I've already PM'd skipper.
