Ruger American 22 RF?

Post by acloco »

LOL!...yes...another.

Anybody own one yet? I ordered and picked a Ruger American in 22 RF.

Purchased the 8301 model. I really don't care for plastic stocks, but this stock actually feels ok in hand (texture in the right places). Stock also features adjustable length of pull.

Fiber optic front site is a bonus with the fold down rear site.

LOVE the extended mag release couple with the flush mount 10 round rotary mag that all of us have enjoyed for years.

Have only swabbed the bore and lubed appropriate points on the bolt/action with STOS (from Ponsness Warren). MIGHT be able to shoot on Sunday afternoon.

I have the american .22LR. I've observed a trend of Ruger baskets, however after really reading their complete comments it become discernible they are the problem, not the rifle. I have about 2500 rounds through mine. The only limiting factor to this rifle really has nothing to do with the rifle itself, it's just .22 ammo in general. If I happen on a consistent box of 40 grain CCI, it will group about a 1" up to 35 yards, 1.5 at 50 and 3" at 75.I shoot off a bipod and rice filled sock for rear elevation and stability adjustments. It drops about 5.1" inches at a 100
Yards, with a 75 yard zero. I would certainly recommend or buy a few more if I could.
