Modified cases

Will a Hornaday lock and load modified case work in or with a Stoney Point tool?

"Yes", they are the same tool, just a different company now selling it. They both employ 5/16"-36 TPI. (Don't try to find that tap at any hardware store.

Therefore they are both the same they just differ in brand.

That's good info. Thanks Rick. I see Amazon carries them. Would be nice to make one for my .20VT and .223AI.

Send 2-fired cases of each to Hornady, and for $15 dollars each they will modify them for you and send the extra case back if not needed. Not a bad deal really if you need one for a Wildcat or non-standard case. If you need several cases then it may be more cost effective to get the tap.

Personally, I would go for the tap. Never going to wear it out on rifle brass and you can do any case, anytime you want.
