Re: Pics of .204 AR's
Here's my new AR in .204 Ruger.....
Shilen 20" 1 in 9 twist barrel & matching bolt, Double Star upper receiver, Yankee Hill smooth/quad rail free float hand guard, Magpul CTR buttstock.
The scope is a Bushnell Elite 6500, 4-30 for load development work....will probably replace it with a 4-16 or 3-12.....
I haven't shot it yet....just picked it up from my gunsmith....
Thanks for looking.
George

BEAUTIFUL rig RIO! Here in liberal whack-job land (NY) we are not supposed to have anything that looks SCARY!! LOL!!
Hmmm.. I'm intrigued by the field case. Does that (intentionally) double as a shooting mat? I'm getting kinda sick laying on a piece of gore tex and a bug out bag...

Re: Pics of .204 AR's
Not sure the picture has been done correctly as this is my first post.
Just completed putting this one together. I used a Anderson lower, Dpms slick side upper, Shilen 24 in. 1:9 twist with matching bolt, Timney trigger, low profile gas block and Wilson tube, magpul butt stock, Burris mounts, for now Leupold 4x 14 borrowed from another rifle, and lots of other little pieces. Have only had it out to shoot one time so far and it was with some 32 gr. Hornary factory loads I already had for my Encore. After getting it on paper at 50 and moving out to 100, after cleaning, first shot on paper and then 4 more with the last 4 all touching in one hole. First shot was about 3/8 in. out. Looks like its going to be a shooter. Going to load some 40 and 45 gr. for it and see how it does with them, all my reloading gear has been in totes since a move and am just finishing a room on the back of my garage to set it all up in. Should be ready to go soon if wintertime will figure out its supposed to be over.

Re: Pics of .204 AR's
Just got mine done last week. Decided to let someone build the upper from the ground up and so i went with Specialized Dynamics. Few hiccups along the way but it does look nice now that its done.
Stock is a temporary thing, i have a few precision rifle builds that took up my budget looking to get an ace or another light weight stock on here as well as a new trigger.
Working on a load right now hopefully its a shooter!

Re: Pics of .204 AR's
Built the 5.2 pound 204 Ruger for Mike who lives behind the enemy lines in communist Kalistain. I liked it so much I am going to build my own 204 Ruger here in Free territory of the Battle State, free Nevada.
Just ordered the barrel from Wilson Combat, it is among the lightest 204 barrels and true match grade too. Accurate as can be. Fluted and 18 inches weighing only 34.6 ounces. Most AR 204 Ruger barrels weigh closer to 5 pounds, and the complete rifles closer to 10-12 pounds. YOU DON"T NEED WEIGHT TO FIGHT THE 204 MASSIVE RECOIL!
I will be using one of my 4 extra Mag Tactical lowers, upper receiver will be one I have that has no F/A and no dust cover. I have a sweet black titanium gas block that uses 3 set screws, scallops on the side. I just like it a lot.
Will be using a National Match super lite carrier and an adjustable gas carrier. Of course it will have a carbon fiber hand guard as I just ordered one in 10 inch and one 12 inches, plus I have at least 2 in the garage.
I don't have to go expensive to keep this build under 5 pounds.
Most of the local 204 ruger factory ammo is over a dollar a round, but Outdoor Limited in the free state of North Carolina has both Hornady and Fiochi 32 and 40 grain V max ammo for just over 50 cents a round. Ordered 250 rounds for $140 so with shipping they came to 56 cents a rounds, not bad.
Rifle has been transformed into a long range bench rest rifle with an A2 stock with 3.5 pound lead weight in the stock and a DPMS Target pistol grip. The stock has a Tubbs adjustable butt plate that weighs about a pound.
Rifle has a Vortex Viper 6-24 x 50 scope.
