Re: Are adjustable gas blocks worth the extra money?
I put one on my Rock River 5.56 and it was the best thing I did to try to reduce the recoil on it, so I could see the hits better.
Please, no Sidewinder today!

Tejas JD: Been on vacation to California to the grandkids for last month (and to help out). Anyway, my view is the adjustable gas block is VERY useful ONLY on the SBRs, especially with suppressors, to make sure you can cycle your ammo, especially subsonics. That's my two cents.

I like them with side chargers so you don't have to chase brass all over the prairie. Shoot, left-hand charge and catch the brass with my right hand.

They are nice for tweaking where your bolt throws the brass (and adjusting recoil), but I had a bit of trouble getting what I wanted in that regard, and having enough gas to drive the bolt fully back. It all worked out in the end, but I had to re-tweak my hand load after that. Not sure if there's "science" involved there, older wiser 'loaders may be able to provide more intel. That was with a 6.5 Grendel, JP Enterprises super match barrel set-up.

I definitely believe they are. When it comes to my rifle builds, I will pay for a better mouse trap if I believe it will contribute to a better build.

Yes they are worth it. sometimes you need to adjust the pressure i.e. suppressors or as mentioned not wanting brass slinging all over or firing single shot and working bolt manually. Have one and like it on a 224 Valkyrie.
