So the week came and went and now we are back at work again
Prieska 2013 was good and quite a few animals were sent to greener pastures.
The area is in what is known as "The Karoo", and it resembles New Mexico.
Rifles used varied:
My 6mm Dasher on fireforming loads with 75gr V-Max running 3420fps.
My .204Ruger running 32gr Varmageddons at 3900fps
My .308 running 180gr Accubonds at 2550fps
My .25-06 running 75gr V-Max at 3750fps.
Reno's 6mm Rem Ackley doing a blistering 3900fps with a 70gr Blitzking.
G-Force's .243Ackley running fireforming loads also with 70gr Blitzkings.
G-Force's 30-06 loaded with 200gr Barnes X's.
Adrian's .308 loaded with 110gr V-max's.
Adrians 7mm Rem Mag with 168 Barnes TSX's.
Kyle,G-Force's sisters kid who is 14 has a Sako Finnwolf .308 that Adrian gave to him.
Mark had his 30-06 with Woodleigh 150's.
Then another .308 or two.
We shot and killed 18springbuck,3 blue wildebeest,3 gemsbuck,2 red hartebeest,2 kudu,2 blesbuck,2ostrich,1 eland and some vermin.
A few shots stood out above the rest such as Reno's 579m springbuck kill and my 480m white blesbuck.
I also had a great shot on an ostrich with a solid headshot at 233m.
Most shots were over 180m far.

Reno's gemsbok:
Ostrich I shot at 233m with the 6mm Dasher. One shot to the head, and it was all over.
Reno's springbuck, shot at 579m, infront of 9 witnesses. Great shot with his 6mm Rem AI using 70gr Blitzkings at 3940fps.
Petrie's wildebeest, 29+"
Ancient bull. Not a tooth left in it's mouth.
Carrying the bull out of the valley. Hard work!
Mark and his wildebeest shot with his 30-06.That 150gr woodleigh went in the front left shoulder and flew out it's rump and is maybe even still travelling!
Kyle carrying his blesbuck out of the valley. He's growing up to be quite the hunter.
Satisfaction after the action:
Reno's impala, killed at 330m.
Dirkie, a good mate of mine joined the hunt, and he got me onto to this young white blesbuck ram. I shot it at 480m with the 6mm Dasher.
Dirkie's ostrich. Shot with his .243
G-Force's nice springbuck ram. Shot with his .243AI
Vincent's springbok, shot with my .25-06
I still need to get some of the other pics of the other animals.
Some random pics for you.
Last pic is of the Orange River, our largest river, and also border with Namibia in some parts.
What a great week. Am I going back? Definitely!
