I've got a Ruger with a 26" and a Rem 700 with a 24", and had my DPMS .204 cut down from 24" to 20"......I haven't checked the velocity, but have noticed no diminution of the accuracy at all. It makes a much handier AR rifle for predators......

22" bbl length is the optimal length for a .204. Although I myself would love a shorter bbl. But through all the research I have done and the manufacturers I have spoken with, anything less than a 22" bbl will not allow for a complete propellant burn due to the velocity the projectile is traveling. I would love an 18" bbl as someone else stated. Easier to manuever and cut down on the weight a little.
