Just not as efficient, but will work well.

Re: 308 suppressor on 204?
I shoot both a .223 and .308 YHM cans on my .204 and I can think the .308 suppressor is as quiet as the .204 what changes for me is the POI's but if you sight in with the .308 can and only use the same each time you will have a very very hard time telling the difference of sound while some have stated in another post that using a suppressor will slightly increase FPS or offer a link to read for yourself the .308 may not offer the same as the .223 due to larger baffles but soundwise are (to me just as if not better at reducing sound) now with that being said I shoot my .223 when we go p-dog shooting and my father did use the .308 on the .223 but now uses the .308 on his .204 I got from bow shot, and while I shoot my .223 and he shoots the .308 both in .204 savage model 12's HB Varmint 26'' rifles you can not tell the difference side by side. Again this is not a proven science project just 3 of us shooters side by side shooting at the range and we can not tell the difference
acloco, can you please tell us why the .308 is not as efficient when using on a smaller cal round? I use the .308 on a 7mm mag,30-06, 308,243,270,223, 204, and .22lr and as long as the scope is set for the particular can the poi's change when its setup for the .308 and you use the .223 for example on the .22 .204 and .223 I am inqusitive as to your response and if I can learn something new I am looking forward to it.
thanks in advance.

Re: 308 suppressor on 204?
THANKS ALOT THATS REALLY GOOD INFO. I HAD HEARD AT MY GUNSHOP THAT IT MIGHT NOT BE AS EFFICIENT ALSO. DUE TO THE LARGER DIAMETER EXIT HOLE IN THE CAN. BUT IF IT WORKS WELL FOR YOU THAT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. I THINK I WILL THREAD ONE OF MY 204'S FOR A 5/8X24 THREAD PITHCH AND GIVE IT A TRY.... THANKS AGAIN

benopland, let us know what you think after it is done. There are others considering the same thing. They just made it legal to shoot suppressors in Washington state so it is definitely on our wish list.
Please, no Sidewinder today!

Re: 308 suppressor on 204?
If you have a YHM suppressor the OD version you can get your barrel threaded to 1/2x28 and get a (YHM) Flashhider and that it will accept a .308 suppressor. Then if you get a .223 flash hider you can put the the flashhider that come with the can and have a extra 1/2x28 that will accept the .308 and just as I did a rifle vanguard with a normal hunting barrel 24'' there is not enough metal to shoulder the 5/8x24 mount so then I used a 1/2x28 one. Also when I got my barrels timed with a standard AR birdcage flashhider as so if I ever sold the rifle they would have an flashhider that was timed like a AR. Just sharing some of my paths with getting all my rifles threaded to use the suppressor. If you have other questions just pm or post here and if I have been there done that I would be happy to share.

Re: 308 suppressor on 204?
well i got my 204 threaded and shot the 308 AAC Cyclone on it and it works very well. sounds about like a 22 short. that supressor is the best 1100 $ i have ever spent. will be threading a few more of my guns for it. i will not hunt or shoot without it ..

It must be nice living in a state where you can use one!
