This morning I went out bow hunting and only saw one deer, an average 8 pointer that never came close enough. After about two hours in the stand, I got down and went back to the truck and cased my bow. I had put a ladder in my truck this morning before I left home to leave out at an old barn since I was going to be in the same area. I drove up to the barn and shut the truck off and was listening to a song on the radio before I got out when a coyote walked out into the alfalfa field up at the other end. It sat down and started grooming it's self so I eased the door open, uncased my CZ 527 American, loaded a round and leaned against the door and took the shot. The coyote took one spin and died.
From the truck to the coyote. The coyote was up next to the timber, 158 yards.
From the coyote looking back toward the truck.
The coyote was a nice female. The 39 SBK didn't exit from a broad side chest shot.

That cracks me up!
Start having to call you the "Dog Sniper"
Did it not notice the truck at all?

Melvin--Good job on the coyote. She must have been deaf and blind to not have heard some sounds you might have been making and not recognize the pickup as a danger. I guess it was your lucky day and her unlucky day

Re: 11/17/10 coyote
I'm thinking the coyote just got used to a vehicle in the area. The farmer has been cutting brush back around his fields almost daily for the past 3+ weeks so it may have gotten used to it.
