Opinion on IMR powder.
I am going to start working up a load for my 2506. I really like Hodgden and know they own IMR. Would I be better off just sticking with Hodgden?

Whatever works BEST in your application.
I have a little of everything, but a lot of Hodgdon powder...especially from the "extreme" flavors. They are supposed to be better in the not so temperature sensitive arena. I work up loads in the heat....and shoot the loads year round.

+1 For the 25-06 using 120 grain bullets I had best results using H-4831 and RL-22.acloco wrote:Whatever works BEST in your application.

Life is an adventure and often to short. Make the most with family and friends. Shoot often and shoot a small hole. Love the 204 Ruger!! NRA Life Member

Re: Opinion on IMR powder.
I have good luck with Varget and 75gr. Vmax bullets. A little overkill on prairie dogs but so is most everything else we use. As mentioned earlier, I too like the "extreme" powders. I willl likely be shoot dawgs in somewhat hotter conditions that my usual shooting conditions and don't need wild pressure swings in my ammo.
Take a kid to the range, both of you will be glad you did. remy3424
