has anyone tried this scope on a 223 ? if so how did it work ?

Can't say that I have. It sounds like its a Nikon Monarch. If so, they're a pretty good scope (miness a 6-24x50). Their reticle selection is limited but Nikon's CS is pretty good in my book. On mine, the contrast & clarity are real good until get near the upper fringes of the magnification level.

Read that they won't be available til June, don't know for sure. Sounds like a nice scope though.
