Can anyone tell me how far from the barrel to set up the chrono?

For my .204, 10 feet... 15 max if I'm experiencing any kind of problem with 10' (shade from bench cover, etc)

If I'm shooting something with a greater muzzle blast, then 15 feet will be about standard.

For me, 12' (four paces) for all varmint/light calibers, and 15' for the larger boomers. This has worked well for many years.

I agree with Rick. I set up around 12 feet for my light guns and 15 feet for the guns that make a loud bang. You should read the manual and it will let you know what the company of your chrono suggests. Or call them and they can tell you how far to set it up. Ride Up!!!

I have a Chrony Beta Master chronograph and I always set it up so the first screen is 12 feet from the muzzle. The cord from the screens to my digital readout box doesn't allow me to go much beyond 13 feet, but then I don't shoot any of those big loudenboomers so it works out just great for me.
