Hey Gube
I bought the same shooting bench from cabelas about 5 yrs ago. works real good for me and is in the back of my truck almost all the time. I do agree the top is a little on the small side and am in the process of designing and installing what i think will be "way more better" I am right handed so the new top will be just for right handed shooters.
and thanks for your story and pics.

WAY COOL!!!!!!!!

I love those photos and it is nice to have an idea of what sort of rig you are using to get such clear and precise photos.
Camera is a Nikon D-300. Lens is the Nikon AF-S (70 - 200 mm) VR Zoom-Nikkor F/2.8 IF-ED
A "doubler" was also used with it. The TC-20E11 AFS Teleconverter which allows you to effectively double the amount of your zoom lens. You sacrifice a bit of clarity with the doubler but it's not to bad when the camera is mounted on a sturdy tripod.
Someday I would like to look into renting some high end gear for a photo shoot so now I have an idea of what to ask for.

Gotta love sheep pastures, they are grazed so low that skippy cannot hide at all.

surfclod: This is why we schedule our shoots immediately after 'first cut'. It's like shooting them on a golf course. They stand out "like a turd in a punch bowl"...... ;)

All I can say is:

"Splat, pop, snap, sploosh and whap, anybody got some Saran Wrap?
All I heard was a great loud whop, now my body is a pile of slop.
I need to get to the E.R. soon, before a raven finds a spoon.
So scoop me up and wrap me tight, I really do look a dreadful sight.
I need CPR but my face is in motion, I think it landed in the Pacific Ocean."
S. Rat Jr. (Posthumously)

Such dedication to sharing vivid splatercations is truly appreciated. There should be an Academy Award, an Emmy or a Golden Glob for such art. We'll call it the - (supply a suggestion here).

I see that photo bucket has shut down some of my pics  I will have to find another "user friendly" host and repost the pics. Anybody know of a good one that wouldn't mind some "prairie poodle art"?

I've finally found some time to re-post the action shots. There's a few here from 2008 as well.

Dang Gube I woke my wife up laughing so hard, and almost choked on my coffee

I'm gonna have to try the continuous shooting of my still shots with my JVC HD digital video camera, and try this when I get out with my .204. Great shots, loved it....

thanks - these are fantastic shots

I've also got a D300 and so need to get out and get some pics of some bunny busting action

I've got a Sigma 50-500 lens with a 1.4x 'doubler' that should do the job nicely
