I'm new to the world of .204 but not shooting. I just picked up this used Remington xr-100 from my smith that he took on trade. The barrel has been set back, bolt was head spaced and a Sako extractor was installed. He also installed a jewel trigger and glass bedded the action and fluted the barrel. I think I did ok for $750.00 but he treats me right. Atop I chose a VXIII 4.5-14x50 with the Varmint hunters reticle. i roughly sighted it in at 100yrds but it was cold and windy. If I'm unhappy with the accuracy i will have him add a lilja or shillen barrel next year. My main purpose for this gun is p-dog hunting in SD. It will accompany my custom .223 AR and my magnum research 17hmr. Now if i could only afford the custom 6.5 .284 that someone just traded in.

Timmy77: I'd say for $750 you did very well indeed. Considering the Jewell trigger, Sako extractor (love them), and the fluting, you basically got all that for free and just paid for the rifle. I'm betting she'll shoot well, you'll just need to find the load she likes. Of couse if you swap the barrel for a Lilja, you know she'll shoot then! ;)

Welcome aboard, let us know how she shoots on a better day.

It will be a few weeks before I get to the range "weather permitting". I will make sure to post some pics of targets after sighting in.

Thanks :D

THAT'S THE RIFLE I WAS LOOKING AT GETTING BEFORE I BOUGHT MY REMINGTON 700 VTR. I COULD NOT FIND IT IN THE 204 ONLY A 223. GREAT LOOKING SHOOTER. :wtg:
