What type of gun is this what are they to buy new?
Hey guys i just found this on a local classfied add and im very interested. I gave the guy a call but no answer yet.
I had a few questions wanted to know if you guys could help me out.
What type of bipod does that look like? Harris?
Do you know what type of tasco scope that is and cost?
And it says its a model 12 but aren't there a few different model 12's that look like this?
And if you know what model what is the price of this gun new?
Lastly do you think its worth the money?
the add says "Like New Savage Model 12 204 Ruger. Laminated stock, heavy stainless steel fluted 26" barrel, Accu-Trigger. Comes with Tasco 6-24X40 adjustable objective scope and bipod."

It looks like the mod. 12 low profile. As far if it is worth what they are selling it for. How much are they selling it for? If you get it, get a new scope for it.That gun will out shoot that scope for sure. The bi-pod does look like a Harris. As far as scopes go, at the low end of price$$ the Nikko Sterling is getting great reviews. Ask your local dealer what a mod.12 low pro in 204 is new. It looks like a great gun. Just put some better glass on top of it.

Re: What type of gun is this what are they to buy new?
sorry i cut the last part of the add off..they are asking $700 for it like that..i thought it was a low profile too and they are around $700 new. so im thinking hes just trying to get the value of what the gun was when new out of his sale. and yeah i deffinetly dont want that scope i was just seeing if anyone could recognize which tasco it is. so then i could get an idea of the price of it and see if we will sell without the scope on it and knock the price down a little. and if it wasnt a harris swivel bipod i was going to see if he would sell without that too. what do you think i should offer him? what do you think i should offer without the scope and bipod?

Depending on how long it has been for sale, I would ask $600. If it has just been advertised, I would ask $600 and he keeps scope. You can go to legacysports.com and get a Nikko 6-24 for $220. In this time of economic trouble, I don't think he will want to turn down any solid offer. BTW, if you do get it. My Savage loves H4895 and 39grn. Sierra BKs. Good luck.

I started laughing when i read.......
SHHAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGG
funny stuff!
-Dan p.s. great buy!!!!! You will love that Savage! My opinion is saved a little longer and buy a used Leupy scope. Well worth the extra pennies and will always hold its value if you decide to upgrade later. Nice grab

I have the exact same gun and yes it is the Savage 12 VLP. Mine will shoot cloverleafs with various different bullets all day long if I do my part. Good luck and enjoy your new toy.
