Thanks guys! Ordered a Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 and 3 boxes of the 32gr VMaxs today. I will likely pick up a few boxes of one of the "heavier" loads later this week. Should let me see how it shoots and give me some brass to start reloading with...

Buy once, never look back. Their Competition Seater Die is the best out there. I use that die for any "accuracy caliber" rifle I shoot. Completely worth the bit of extra money.

I just bought a 527 also. One of the nice surprises was the trigger. I didn't like it at all the way it came from the factory but it has 4 adjustment screws and once you get it dialed in it is sweet. Nice little guns. Dave

My trigger is not bad at all from the factory. That being said I have not shot live rounds yet. Looks easy to adjust if need be.

I picked up a box of the Hornady 45gr SP last night, kinda interested to see how they group.

I'm curious how those heavy bullets fly. A buddy has a Savage with a 1 in 12 twist that won't shoot anything but the 32 grainers. My Remmy REALLY didn't like the 40 grain Hornadys. I may have to try some of the 35gr Bergers. MidwayUSA.com has a big sale on dogtowns right now too.

You may be pleasantly surprised on how the Hornady 45 gr sp's fly. They tend to do much better than the 40 gr V-max. Reason for this is that the OAL is shorter than the V-max which makes it easier to stabilize in the 1 in 12 twist barrels better than the longer V-max.

Gun is scoped, sitting next to 4 boxes of shells, waiting for the weather to get halfway tolerable....

That Mueller looks nice on it. Bolt throw is a little tight, but clears.
