Remington .204 40 gr.Accutip bullets

At the local gun shop I noticed a couple of boxes of Remington .204 40 gr. Accutips in boxes of a hundred. Nice looking package too ! It had a clear window displaying one of the bullets ...I guess to deter the folks that open a box of bullets and inspect the bullets then put'em back on the shelf. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had tried this bullet in a fast twist barrel . I'm looking for a 40 gr. that will hold up in my 9" twist 20 BR barrel. Sierra 39 gr. BK blow up 25 yds out and I lost a 40 gr. VMax every now and then at 100 yds during load development. I had hoped someone on this forum might have experience with this bullet and how it compares in construction to the 39 gr. Sierra which I use most in my 204 Ruger rifles .Thanks for any help as I'm not familiar with this bullet.

Thanks, I have used GunHaus bullets and shoot Don Unmussig's 40 gr. BT regularly but was just curious about the 40 gr. Accutip as I have not heard much discussion about it .

The Remington accutip bullets are generally believed to be manufactured by Hornady. Different colored tip being the only difference. The fact they now offer them for sale is new. (to me anyway)

As you've found the bk's are the weakest jacket construction in .204 I've seen lots of blowups out of standard 12 twist Savage tubes at high end velocity. A 9 twist 20BR? Yep that should peel em pretty good.
The fact the Hornadys are coming apart is not so good.
What make barrel?
What powder and velocity?
Mostly just curious as I'd like to build a 9 twist 20BR in the future.

40 Bergs should hold together. BC not so good.
Maybe the Noslers too.

The 20 BR barrel is a 3 groove Pac-Nor SS HV contour 26" 1-9" twist. It started life as a 20 PPC but I didn't feel like I had enough horse power for the 50 gr. Berger BT's so I used a gunsmith friend of mine's 20 BR reamer to rechamber without setting it back any . I am now coating all the bullets for this barrel with Danzac (Tungsten disulfide) and the 40 gr. VMax do just fine . However I have found a really good load for the 50 gr. Berger's using VV-540 at 3848 fps so I'm planing on just sticking with this bullet for now. I will probably just use the 40 gr. VMax's for fireforming brass.
This is my second 3 groove Pac-Nor 20 cal. barrel and have been pleased overall but with that said I am seeing more copper fouling even using Danzac that I thought I should. Right now it is manageable but more than I thought I should see. Maybe I should have set the barrel back 1" before the rechamber ? I need to inspect the bore with a Hawkeye and see what's up. My next 20 cal barrel may be a Lilja but haven't made my mind up yet.
On the Remington Accutips I thought they looked a lot like the Hornady Vmaxs now that you mention it. It is a very attractive retail package that Rem. uses and they should sell very well.
