Anybody shoot other 20 calibers?
I know, WHAT am I thinking.....is there ANY other 20 caliber than the 204 Ruger?
Just picked up a 20 VT barrel, brass, Hornady 2 die set, Redding bushing neck die, and a go gauge.
Believe this might be an ultra low recoil rifle, could be fun!

I've seen some good things said about the 20vt acloco. Let us know how she shoots when you get to that point ok.

I don't think you'll like it. Maybe you should just sell it all to me cheap and forget it.
Okay I'm jealous, let us know how it performs.

2 20 VTs....one built on Rem VSSF and the other on a Rem Classic .221FB...both with Shilen barrels. Great cartridge.....give it a whirl.

I just received an AR barrel in .20 Tactical for a new build. Does that count?

Let's see, I have a .204, 20 VT, 20 Practical, and a 20 PPC. My Vartarg is a Cooper M38, and it likes VV N120 and RL7 under either a 32 grain VMax or Blitzking.

I'm glad I don't have to make that choice! They are all tack drivers, three were built by Kevin Weaver, and all have their place when the pdog platoon heads out.acloco wrote:scootertrash - fess up...which ONE would you pick if you could ONLY pick one.
But to answer your question, it would be the 20 PPC hands down. It is wicked accurate.

Awesome. Somewhat of a speed demon as well??? Flat shooting - would that be an understatement?
Re: Anybody shoot other 20 calibers?
In the past, I shot a 20 T-N-t and a 20 VT, both of which I sold.
I currently have 2 Tac 20's (one custom and one Cooper) and 2 204 Rugers (both factory). I shoot a hand swaged 38 grain HP through all of them.
I also have a Remington 591 Steve Schroeder 5MM RF/CF conversion that is fun to shoot. Since the new RF ammo has appeared, I have shot three boxes of it through the 591 and it is not nearly as accurate as the 32 grain Hornady V-Max is in the little 5MM CF cartridge case. (Don't tell EM that, Glen(n). He might come over here and scold me.... ) The nice thing about the Schroeder RF/CF conversion is it only takes about 5 minutes to swap bolt heads from one to the other.
I'm currently trying to decide if I want another 20 VT and the case making involved. I realize the 221 FB case can be easily converted to 20 VT, but the best shooting 20 VT's utilize good quality brass made from 222 or 223 Rem cases, and getting them to 20 VT is a bit more work.
In the 1980's I had a friend in West Texas who shot a 5mm/223 which is a clone of the "newly invented" 20 Practical. It was a good shooting rifle, even back then.
