P.S. I did my first technical training at Lowrey AFB (462X0), went on to become a Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist on the F-106 Delta Dart. 7 years of plane chasin' then I retrained into crypto, I retired in 98 (I would say it was the best 20+ years of my life).

Hello All!!!!! Long time reader first time writer. I've hunted, fished, and trapped pretty much everything there is to hunt, fish, and trap in western Pennsylvania for the past 25 years. I absolutely love this site and have learned a lot over the past several months of reading. Although I do not yet own a .204, I am currently shopping and hope to use the $750 or so in Cabela's points to help make the purchase. I spent last summer shooting 50 or so woodchucks with my .50 T/C Omega X7. Had a blast but pretty expensive. The gun was new and i figured that there is no better way to get used to a gun than to shoot it. Again, thank you all for the great information and pictures.

Hey everyone! My name is Jeff, I've been reading on here for a while, but just got officially registered the past week. I really admire the knowledge of everyone on this board and appreciate everyone's willingness to help out! Anyway, I'm all of 19 years old, and am a freshman at Butler University in Indianapolis, majoring in business. My dream some day is to find a career working in the marketing department of a hunting or fishing company. I've loved hunting and fishing my whole life. Go to Canada every summer with my dad in search of big northern pike. Been deer hunting since I've been about 12 and have shot some pretty nice bucks, but have recently gotten the coyote hunting fever in the past few years. That's when i got a Ruger Mk II Ultra Light in 204. It wears a Bushnell 3200 4x12 on top of it, and shoots great with the 40gr Hornadys. Although I can't get out in the woods as much as i want to due to college, I have been able to get several coyotes the past few years bowhunting as well as with the 204. Anyways, I'll stop rambling on, but just want to say hello and thanks to everyone that makes this site happen!

I am 32 years old originally from Lake City, Michigan but have lived in many places since joining the military. I started out doing 4 years in the Army, then enlisted in the Air Force. I am currently stationed east of Denver in Aurora, Colorado. This has been my favorite assignment by far! (because I have been able to do the things I enjoy most) I enjoy reloading, shooting, hunting big and small game including varmints and predators. I first read about the 204 Ruger cartridge when I was stationed in Korea 03-04 and just knew I really needed to have one. My uncle had one in a Savage rifle and told me how awesome it was and how flat and far he was killing PA groundhogs with it. At that time, my only varmint calliber was a 223 Encore rifle. The 204 Ruger is the first caliber I started reloading for on my own in early '05. There were a few bugs I had to work through (powder funnels, trimmer pilots, etc) while learning to reload for this caliber. It has become somewhat addicting I must say, as I think I have reloaded about 13 different calibers since. I must say the 204 is now my favorite varmint shooting caliber I own. My rifle is a CZ 527 Varminter with a 5.5-16.5 Monarch on it with burris rings. Love to hear that bang...WHOP! The best part is seeing my hits/launches clear as day! I think I have around 600 rounds loaded up (minus the ones I shot last week). Looking forward to getting a lot more trigger time this week!

Hi, I am 69yr old and retired cement contractor, not by choice. I have been interested in hunting and fishing ever since I can remember. I have reloaded for 45 years. Most of my big game hunting is with the bow. I do most of my own gunsmithing. My second hobby is lathe and metal working machines. I make and sell spindle Spyders for lathes and bore guides for CZ rifles. I have a small caliber addiction. I have three 17s and three 20s. I have two 204s almost. Hi gang,
Middle aged conservative here. I joined looking to get background knowledge on reloading my .204 and 220 Swift. Ranch raised in south central Montana, been hunting and fishing since about 5 years old so have lots of "stories" and "wrecks" to share over a red beer if anyone shows up at my door step! I have hunted most of the big game species in the lower 48, packed most of them to the freezer with horses but now enjoy blasting prairie dogs and gophers from May thru September. I'm an avid archer so bow season disrupts my rifle interests for about 6 weeks out of the year.
I enjoy tooling leather making everything from gun scabbards to belts, checkbooks and photo albums. I taught vocational agriculture for quite a few years so still enjoy working with wood and metal in my home shop. My son plus three step sons are all out of the house so it's just 'me and ma' chasing each other around...........or our only grandson when he comes to visit!
I received a .204 Ruger as a gift about a year ago, still trying to "refine" a hand load to torture our local prairie dog and gopher population. My 220 Swift has been a tremendous rifle but I look forward to enjoying the .204 just as much in the years to come.

Hi everyone, I'm Joe. I first got introduced to guns as a kid, mostly hunting and shotgun stuff with some occasional .22 rifle action. My dad and I got into shotgun reloading mostly for pigeon (not the live ones...) shooting.

After I got out of college and moved away I bought a savage 22 mostly for cheap plinking. I'm going on my first prairie dog hunt in May so after months of research, decided on a .204. I was back and forth on a few different models and finally decided on an AR by DPMS. I went with the cryo dip and titanium bolt options...I hope to heck it shoots accurately. I picked up a Burris scope/spotting scope combo for 425 shipped, and will be mounting that once the gun arrives.

My friend Matt (squatting wolf) turned me onto this forum as a good shooting resource. I don't have any experience with center fires so it's been a learning experience to say the very least with tons of knowledge to soak up. All of the caliber choices, rifles, bullets, powders, scopes, manufacturers, et cetera make it pretty overwhelming... I'm looking forward to shooting more now that I make a decent wage. Hopefully I get a home in the next year or two so I can start reloading myself.
