Sons first coyote hunt

Post by DDCalls »

My step-son wanted a predator hunt for his 12th birthday. Who was I to say no :yoyo:. Took him a little while to figure out you have to shoot fast. But watching dad shoot a couple sure fired him up. He shot his dog at 7 feet on a full run right at him. We were sitting in the bush right behind him in the picture. In all my years of guiding I have never been more excited then when he rolled that dog.

Can only agree with what Glen and Vartarg wrote. You must be real proud.
I must admit that one thing i`m really looking forward to,is taking my boy fox shooting.Unfortunatly he`s only 6 at the moment and all the walking we do would be too much for him.Still he seems to be happy using the air rifle on tin cans for now,and at least he`s learning a bit of gun safety.
I only have to be lucky once,
the fox has to be lucky every time!

Tell the young man congratulations and thanks for sharing your hunt. I like to see pictures of the places everyone hunts and their stories, it's better than reading them out of a magazine.
Enjoy it while you have it, because things will change.

I'd be proud too!! My boy is 2 1/2 and I'm proud when he sees male and female deer and promptly shouts "Buck" or "Doe". . . now if I can only get him to use and indoor voice while we're hiding in the deer blind.

Getting kids interested in hunting and gun safety is important. Enjoy!
