35s, 39s, or 40s for Coyotes

Opinion based question. For those who have shot coyotes with these. Which one do you think held together decent and anchored coyotes better.
35s (Berger)
39s (Blitzking)
40s (Berger)

I have never used the 40 gr. Bergers on coyotes, but used lots of 35 gr. FBHP Bergers and they anchored the coyotes quite nicely. The 35 grainers do have a fairly low BC compared to the 39 gr. Sierras and 40 gr. Bergers, but they were easy on fur. If you use them, you just have to be aware of and allow for the wind deflection.

The 39 gr. Sierra BlitzKings have worked great for me on coyotes as well. I would be hard pressed to decide which one, the 35 gr. Berger or 39 gr. Sierra was better, they are both excellent bullets for coyotes IMHO.

Great topic. I can't wait to here what everyone has to say. I have no experience, but I am rooting for 39 BK's, as I have spent the summer developing a load for coyote hunting this winter. The heavier weight and great BC really attracted me. In fact, I just picked up another pound of RL-10x today and am getting 500 39 BK's in the mail tomorrow! life is good...

I use the 39 grain sierra exclusively for yotes'. Fur it not a big issue with me and this bullet is super accurate in my remington. In my parts the ranges tend to get longer and I want all the help I can get downrange to put these guys down. 1st and last choice the 39 grain BK......GREAT BULLET!!

None of the above. Use the hornady 45 gr. sprire point. My friend says they always penetrate, even at close range like 50 yards. It is the same construction as their Interlok bullet. The 32's and 40's are very fragile and designed for p-dogs and chucks.

I use the 40gr Berger's based on my results from shooting groundhogs. I noticed definitely more wallop on those critters & it didn't matter where I hit them inside of 150yds. The bullet just plain worked for me every time.

Song Dog, anything to report regarding the Berger 40gr bullets and how they do on coyotes? I've agonized over selecting a bullet for my 204 for months and finally got some Berger 40 grainers. Load workup starts today for them. I hope that you've had positive results.

Small pinhole entrance and no exit! Shot one today facing me right under the chin and no exit and no fur damage!!

Yes I do have my own annalysis (sp?). I have nor bought any Berger 35s.
Now that I have shot the 40s and shot coyotes with the 40s. I will keep using them. The very 1st coyote shot with them, I purposely shot a tad forward in the shoulder. It went in and messed a bunch of stuff up and coyote didn't know what hit him. I have shot others and they have been bang flop. I do like the impact on the coyotes so far.

As far as damage goes.....have only had 1 instance this winter when I have had a sierra 39 grainer NOT exit a yote, then again, my reloads are leaving the barell at 3800+ maybe that has something to do with it.

Fireball you are getting exits all the time with the 39gr SBK? Hmm i have not had an exit yet, broadside, neck, frontal and head shots, no exits!

That is correct. Only one that did not leave an exit was one I shot at about 200 yards broadside on the run. Was a high chest shot that did not exit.
