There's a sign like that between Buffalo and Sheridan, WY. I think the prairie dogs put it up to trick the shooters because there ain't no dogs there. Come to think about it there's no creek either.

They are capable of trickery as well?

This picture is near the Kansas/Nebraska borders. There ARE a few prairie dogs there, but driving by at 70 mph did not provide an opportunity to study their acrobatic abilities. :)
