Skinning a Yote
Skinning a Yote
I have skinned just about everything in my life. I have never skinned something for taxidermy. Does anyone have detail information on how to skin the feet for taxidermy purposes. Yotes, bobcat etc. I don't need the basics just how to finish the feet and pads, toes etc.

That's a great link but, it doesn't show how to do the feet.
Re: Skinning a Yote
I watched a taxidermist skin a bobcat, she cut down the leg at the color change line, then cut through the center of the pad. Peel the toes back and snip the bone at the claw.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Thanks, That's about what I had in mind. I have read that you can repair the pads after you cut through them.

Also, if you know who will be your taxidermist, give him a call and see what he might prefer. They all seem to have set ways, and they may differ with how you are planning to have it mounted.
