Back from my Squirrel shoot.
I took a late vacation this year as I had a wedding to attend and as gas prices where as high as $4.49 a gallon and more depending on where I was I had to economize the best I could to make every thing work out. The shooting was good at the mile high elevations and higher a little slow below that. The squirrels where all mature and quite large no young and dumb ones to be found. This was the latest in the year that I have ever shot and I was a little worried that I would miss out. I did get about three days of good shooting. It was a chore finding fields that had been cut. As you can see by the wet rag on the barrel at times the shooting was fierce. The girl is my niece and here dad in the back ground.cut.

Ryan,
Looks like your niece was having a good time.
Was it too hot for the sage rats to be up?

Re: Back from my Squirrel shoot.
Morning and evenings where the nicest temperature wise mid day was a little hot and maybe a little slower for shooting. But when I looked down at the empty brass I was still doing quit well. Next year I will try and make it in May or June. I wasn't able to get back to some of the fields that I had shot at that where at even higher elevations due to schedule and high gas prices. My niece and nephew both had a great time as did by brother and Dad who is 82 now and still likes to whack a few. For me being from So Cal 90% is quite a nice temperature. The weather was great the whole trip as I did over three weeks in a pup tent which is a little tough for me. My boy should graduate from collage this month which should help me save for an RV for next year. Oregon and Northern California are great places to explore.
