I got home last night and had fresh runs where I had shot the other mole. I mashed the runs down and didn't have any activity there the rest of the evening.
I went out this morning at first light and still no activity so I went to the shop and did some maintenance on my lawn mower and kept watching for the little yard maggot to start tearing things up. Finally, around 8:00 I went to the house for some breakfast. My wife and I were sitting on the deck eating when we both saw the grass moving out by the pool. I slipped into the shop and got my 12 ga. that I had ready and put the stalk on the little bugger.
It was pretty busy re-opening up it's tunnels and made for an easy stalk. I gave it a two shot burst, the second shot flipped it right out of the ground. It would have been a good one to mount, but had too much pelt damage.
Here's the good side.
Linda and I finished breakfast and then took the 4 wheeler out to a place we deer hunt and went down in the creek bottom to see what the new creek crossing looked like that the owner had recently made.
She wanted to try out the crossing so I snapped a few pictures while she played.
Took a few other pictures along the way also.

When it comes to moles, I have no problem with over kill concerning weapons!
So far, it's been quiet on the back yard war grounds.
