Do a side by side comparison with a Leupold or Nightforce or Nikon to see what it looks like compared to some of the better scopes. Usually, with scopes, you get what you pay for.

Can you read a newspaper at 100 yards with it?
Is it clear from edge to edge?
Does it hold the same point of aim as you zoom from the lowest to highest magnification?
Will it end up back at zero if you move the windage and elevation up four, right four, down four and left four?
How does it work in low light?
Does it have fully multicoated lenses?
Does it have an adjustable objective?
Hows the parallax?

If you're going to pay good money for it, it better cut the mustard. Start sceptical and let it impress you, if it can.
