installing a barrel

What kind of lube do you use for installing a barrel. I have used the silver anti seize for nuts and bolts but sure if it's ok for barrels .

to my knowledge any type of anti seize should be sufficient, i have and use the silver stuff you are referring to

That "silver stuff" you refer to is "Never-Seeze". I've used it for over 40 years in the shop from heavy industrial use, to the threaded barrel stubs you mention. You can remove a tight barrel that's been on the action for 20 years with ease.

It's great on wheel studs too....you'll never, ever break off a wheel stud if you use the stuff when replacing lug nuts. "Good stuff"! :D
