Factory 20VT chambering

"20 fireball" like the sound of that. wonder what the ballistics would be like ? better or less than the 20 vt ?

Basically, that would actually BE a 20VT, but consider the 20VT has a 30* shoulder, and the Fireballs (17 & 221) both retain the parent case (223) shoulder angle of 23*. So in theory anyway, they'd be the same, save for the shoulder angle. But if R-P ligitimized the cartridge, I'd bet they'd use what they've been using......23 degrees. So it would not really be a 20 VarTarg, but a 20 Fireball....right?

With Remington all but abandoning the 17FB as noted, the little 20VT will most likely remain what it has been....a sweet little wildcat gaining much respect that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated.

thank you very much rick. i knew there was a little difference but was wondering if they would put out the 20 fireball in thicker case ie .223 vs 5.56 where the 20 fireball would be more like the 5.56 .

i still like the idea of a 14/204 . still not to sure if that would work. as soon a i get another lathe i am going to make some 20 round nose. ah plans ....
