Interesting...nicely done too. I'd say you have your calculations down. Do you do this because you don't shoot a mil reticle scope? For me its easier to have my zero as the highest flyer ....

Gotta love the 700. One of my sons keeps trying to talk me into a Savage even though he once called my Remmy "freakishly accurate". Savage makes accurate guns too but compared to my 700 they are just flat out ugly.milkman wrote:Thanks bud, I must commend you for being a fellow man of a 700!!

'man: No, I did that thinking that out to 300y and change that I could just put it "on" and expect a killing hit, but I do realize that picking a 200y zero would do the same. I think I was obsessing so much over where to zero, I just kinda flew of the track of reason. I can usually get 'em to stand up, so it seemed somewhat logical.
Toki' gotta agree with you on that... My Savage was a tack driver but looking at it was... well, kinda low on the delight scale.

Like they say Bow, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there is not much prettier than a 5 shot .25" group.

milkman, That statement about 748 is interesting. Why would a barrel need to be rested?
Savage VLP + NF 12x42 + 35 Bergers = .

I thought the same, as W748 usually shoots cooler/temps than most other powders. Bill Kjo191145 wrote:milkman wrote:40 bergers and h4895 are the most accurate loads I have made. Re: new best @ 500
Bill, I say that because of the fast burn rate and hot load potential of w748.
