Annealing question!

Well I've gone for a simple system using a drill, and a socket and a blowtorch! I put a dab of 750° temiplaq a quarter of an inch down the case from the neck junction, and drop the case into a baking tray when the tempilaq melts! Seems to be working 100% on my 204 and 6ppc cases! I only use the tempilaq on a couple of cases when I start, just to get the timing right! Hope this makes sense!

Here's a few pics of the Series II annealing tip as promised. Not the greatest, just a quickie to show the configuration of the rig.

Pretty simple to make, just a visit to the hardware store for the parts and the Benzo torch. Been annealing my cases with this for going on 25 years, seems to work well, as I've never lost a case from splitting after annealing.

You're welcome, Dave. Hope it helps.
Very early on, I used Tempilaq, noted the time needed, then I just give it a 'ten count' under the circular flame. When finished, the cases appear to look identical to either Lapua or military in regards to the even blue coloration.

Shelves: Thanks, what you don't see is the "real" stash of powder and bullets. Pays to be stocked up and well prepared for times like the ones we're living in right now. If the idiot "Poot" keeps this up, we'll be lucky to afford any time in the field or at the range in terms of components and fuel to get us there. We can only hope one lone Russian with a rifle takes the fool out before the idiot kills ALL of us!

But it's almost rat season, much less important, but much more fun to contemplate.

Yup, time goes on and more cool products come available. I'm not in the market for "newer and better", as this old dog has used the TK annealing tip for going on 3 decades; no valid reason to change other than for change itself.

One of my rat shootng buddies (you know who you are) sent me a neat video of his auto annealing machine. Very nice, efficient, does a professional job, but I'd have to shell out funds to bring one home. So for now at least, the old primitive TK annealing tip works just fine thank you. Besides with the way gas prices are going, those extra funds will be used to haul me, my trailer and all my gear out to the ranch for "fun with Skippy". Who ever thought we'd be paying these absolute rediculous prices for GAS? Thanks Joe, great job you're doing! NOT!

That is for sure, especially when there is no reason for such. If Biden/Harris and the commies would open back the Pipe line, the USA has enough of it's own crude to just cut off buying from all the others they do so with. It is nothing but politics and corruption in Wash DC.
