First day of deer gun season for North Dakota and I instead chose to head west for prairie dogs (lottery wasnt in my favor this year). Father-in-law has a doe tag this year and since he uses a rifle of mine we decided to hold off on opening afternoon because of the predicted 70 degree high and hit on Saturday morning.
Man those dogs are big this late in the year. Not trying to show gruesomeness just size comparison.
If they were outside of 150 yards they really had only one thing on there mind. Getting fat for winter. Dont really blame them because it only made working a hillside that much easier. Pop one and his buddy looks up and gets right back to eating.
Either way was an absolute blast out by my lonesome. Not another sole in sight.
Burned 160 or so rounds of .204 and just as many .17hmr while making sure I didn't heat up the barrel to much.
Now I gotta get in the cattails and push a doe out for the FIL.
Have a good one guys
