jp: If you send a fired case to Hornady, they'll do the work and return it to you for a small fee. Give them a call to confirm, but I've done it in the past for some of my wildcats.

Another option would be to get the tap and make your own. The pitch is 5/16 x 36 tpi, right-hand. I had to order mine but they're out there.

You could just buy a 223 Rem modified case and neck it down yourself.

I don't have a 20 Practical so my advice is suspect, at best, but from what I find on 6mmBR.com is that necking down common 223 cases to 20 caliber is where it starts. Then the actual fire forming in YOUR rifle's chamber finishes the forming process. Once a case has fed into your chamber and been ignited, with or without projectile, it takes the shape/form of your particular chamber and is custom fitted to that rifle. It my not feed or chamber in another rifle but it SHOULD BE just right for that rifle.

Just as I suspected Pacific Tool and Gauge has reamer diagrams for the 20 Practical. You could get in touch with them for more information.

What I forgot to summarize was that it appears you need 223 caliber brass, a 223 neck sizing die AND an array of 20 caliber neck sizing bushings so you can neck the brass down to 20 caliber. The array of bushings is so that you can vary the neck tension going forward.

thanks for all the replies, I made one for a 6x45 build using a Hornady 223 modified case so I guess I can make one for the 20P as well.
