There have been a few grounds squirrels shot here in so. west Idaho. I've even heard of a couple rock chucks being spotted.

Best news I've heard all week!

Still a tad early for us here, we had 3" of the white fluffy stuff last night, and more on the way, so it'll be a while before Skippy pops his little head up around here.

BUT, rifles are all tuned and ready, all ammo is loaded, and my crew and I have been busy setting shoot dates for the upcoming spring. Almost time for Skippy and his pals!

We have hardly had any snow here in the valley this winter. All in all it's been a pretty mild winter, a little rain here and there. I'm going out tomorrow afternoon and see if I can pop a couple. Might scare up a badger. Hope you can get out before to long, always look forward to your stories and pictures.

A buddy and I got out yesterday afternoon for awhile. It was ca cold, windy, overcast day but we managed to pop about a half dozen of the little squeakers. I was shooting my Ruger #1 .2189 Bee and he had his Ruger .223 AR. After a long winters nap they can still do aireal acrobatics.

I just watched the weather report on t v. They're saying there's a winter storm watch from Fri. afternoon through Sun. with heavy snow. So, probably won't be going back out to soon. Glad I got out yesterday for a few.

Yep, saw that too. Snow still on the ground here, with this new dump on the way, like you said there, Bob, it'll be a while till the little buggers poke their wee heads up. But there's always "Snow Rats!" in the meantime for the ones that DO pop up.......

That is what my shooting partner and I found last spring one morning, even if it was a little cold starting out in the morning. Bill K :)

I love it to. Coyotes, badgers, jack rabbits, squirrels, they all make for good painting.

Can't get out, it's been raining steady since Tuesday evening. Before that we had about an inch of snow. I think the ground squirrels are wearing wet suits and snorkles ! Lots of wind too. Bad case of cabin fever !

Got out yesterday and cleaned up on the ground squirrels. I was shooting my .218 Bee Ruger #1, which I've named "Deadly Do Right". I didn't expect them to be out like they were and shot up all the ammo I took along. Got a lot them to go air borne. Spotted one badger but he disappeared under ground before I could get the truck stopped. We waited 15 mins. and tried to coax him out with a called but no luck. It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and no wind. Perfect cure for cabin fever.

Envious of you. I still have too much snow and wet, wet ground. But hopefully in a few weeks it will start drying and they will start popping up here also.

I think spring is breaking here. Supposed to get some rain this afternoon then clear days after that, sunny and up in the 60's next week. Should be lot's of squeakers out and hopefully I can get into some badgers too.
