Instead of a 204R barrel, I am thinking about going with a 224 Valkyrie. Will need a barrel, either way, but on the bolt/carrier, all I would need to do is change the bolt in the carrier unit ( now it is a 5.56) over to the 6.8 spc, right ? I know the standard 223/5.56 magazine will work, with either. Some thought/info please. Bill K

The .204 barrel I used on my AR came from Shilen and included a serial # matched bolt. Maybe your gunsmith (Mike) can provide a bolt to fit the 224 Valkyrie. I took the .223/5.56 bolt out of the carrier and installed the .204 bolt in it's place with out any problems. Should work for the 6.8 as well. R!
