204 on Mt Lion
Anyone at this site used a 204 on Cougar? I have seen bigger game taken but was wondering if someone had a good large cat load. Range would definetly be under 300 yards and most likely under 150....

Re: 204 on Mt Lion
No lions around here, but if I were using a .204 on 'em I'd run 45 gr. Hornady soft points, preferably through a faster-twist barrel (or whatever shoots them accurately; my Rem. LVSF squeezed some factory stuff into a bit over an inch, which would probably be good enough under 200 yards for that task.)
I see on another site you're looking for a light rifle; fwiw dealers around here are selling TC Ventures for 300 bucks. The .204 is (alleged) to have a 1:10 twist barrel. Couldn't go wrong at that price.

My suggestion would be the 35gr Berger MHP.
