Let's see Savage, Remington, Ruger, etc. offer service like that! Another reason why Coopers aren't as expensive as people believe....SactoBill wrote:I just got off the phone with Shirley at Coopers and they fixed the extractor and shipped it back to me on the same day!
Awesome service! I can wait to take her out for some long awaited shooting session.

Rowdy: Right you are, bud. Add this to the excellent CS Cooper offers:
The last full-custom rat rifle I built around a M700, shoots in the .2's (223AI), cost: $2,800
The last new Cooper M21 MTV rat rifle purchased, shoots in the .2's (204R), cost: $1,600
People seem to whine about the cost of Coopers, but from where I sit, they seem like a purty good bargin by the time all the dust settles. (Have you seen the new Cooper M51 repeater for 223-based cartridges yet?.......sweet! )
(And for you Savage lovers.....don't bother responding, there's more to it than just accuracy, and you know what I mean. No offense, just facts. Don't hate me, it's JMO)

Bill, that was in spring of 2010 from Sportsman's Whs in Billings, MT. Haven't bought a new one since. Heck, the least I've paid for a Cooper was for my M21 VT 223 Rem....off the used rack at the Nosler Pro Shop for $700, and she's cherry, also shoots in the .2's with her pet load. Doesn't LOOK like a $700 rifle, does it?Bill K wrote:Wish I could find a Cooper for $1600. they are running around $2300 everywhere I check.. Bill K
Sometimes even a blind hog finds an acorn, eh?
With the madness prevailing right now, I doubt we'll ever see the "old" prices again.

Bill, what are you looking for? It shouldn't be too difficult to snag a M21 or M22 for substantially less than $2,300.Bill K wrote:Wish I could find a Cooper for $1600. they are running around $2300 everywhere I check.. Bill K
Whittakers has a whole slew of Cooper rifles in various configurations, and the majority of them are well under the $2,300 mark.

I'd settle for just Savage accuracy. The last two Model 25s (admittedly low-end) in .17HH and .22 Hornet shot 3" cold-barrel flyers. Pretty sure what the response from the co. will be: "That's 'normal' for that rifle."Rick in Oregon wrote:Rowdy: Right you are, bud. Add this to the excellent CS Cooper offers:

Re. the new M51 Cooper: I'm trying to figure how to buy one as we speak. (Should I sell a couple Remingtons, or maybe my M21 .204 Varminter to help finance a .204 repeater? Decisions, decisions...) Did see where a guy who ordered one expects about a 6 month wait, so I'd better keep the Model 21; no law that says you can't own 2 Coopers the same caliber/chambering, is there? I have $2400 invested in my 2 Coopers, btw, both bought within the past 2 years. Also, http://www.firststopguns.com seems to run decent prices on Coopers.

I bought my 20 VT Cooper for $1800. Cliff's GSR in Idaho. They will ship to your FFL. Bad part is the CA sales tax!

I bought my M38 on GB for slightly over $1600. It was listed as new but I noticed water marked on the stock and the extractor was broken. Still a beautiful rifle though.
I spoke to Cooper and will send in the rifle to get a new Phoenix stock in green with black webbing installed. Then look out little California ground squirrels!

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!
Ok so since Bodei brought it up, what 17 would you get? I have two 17 HMR's already so the rimfires are covered. 17 HH or 17 Fireball?
I asked this question on Saubiers and response was mixed.
