Load for Nosler 40 BT
Anyone use a Nosler 40 BT with RL 10x
The Nosler list max load at 23.5 grs. but that seems low to me?
I was looking for other bullets to try since the SBK 39's are so hard to come by right now

I'm having better luck with H322. 10x was OK but Hodgdon seems to be doing the job. 22.9 is the best load so far but I'm going up to see what reveals itself.

I'm guessing your refering to a 204ruger.Not familure with that bullet, or 10X powder, but I would work up with the 8208XBR from 27gr should max out around 27.4.Your gun may differ.

The most accurate bullet in my .204 has been the Nosler 32 gr. Varmageddon but I use BLC(2) powder. No experience with the two powders you have.

I too am having some luck with H322. Great groups at 22.5 (Nosler accuracy load) and another node at 23.3. I'm working up to max looking for the best node.

Re: Load for Nosler 40 BT
Haven't tried it with Noslers yet but my most accurate load for 40 gr Vmaxs with Reloder 10X is 24.4 grains. Reloder 10X is one of rmy favorite powders. Too bad it's not available right now, or much of anything else for that matter.
Re: Load for Nosler 40 BT
I haven’t used the Nosler myself, but a friend of mine runs that load of 25gr of 10x with the Nosler 40gr out of a stock Savage and Krieger barreled Savage. It shoots excellent but I would work slowly up to it.

Re: Load for Nosler 40 BT
Here is my load development board using standard 3/4" price stickers for my Savage 12 using 40gr Noslers and RL10x. The target was shot at 100 yards - 5 shots each load, starting at 22 grains and working up 2 tenths at a time to 25 grains. In the end I settled on the load dead center - 23.8 grains, a good balance of accuracy and speed without wasting valuable powder. I noticed no pressure signs in any of the loads, so I know 25 grains is perfectly fine (IN MY RIFLE)...
Some guys can't get 40 grain bullets to work in their 204's, but my savage loves them. I found it interesting how the groups expand and contract to little sweet spots. Amazing how 2 tenths can make such a difference...
