I have a Savage 12BGTVS in 204 and just ordered the Vortex Viper 6.5-20 x 50PA. I am thinking the DNZ Products Game Reaper 1-Piece Scope Base with 30mm Integral Rings Savage 10 Through 16 Round Rear Short Action Matte High will be the ticket. According to the info on MidwayUSA's site and Vortex's site I think this will be the proper setup. Am I correct or am I missing something?
Thanks guys
Am I about to order the right rings/bases?

Should be fine with high rings and the 50MM objective.

So what about if I went with the 44mm obj lens? Med bases?

I had a Savage Model 12 SA, Viper 6.5-20X44. The Medium Deadnutz was perfect. Just enough height to sneak a cleaning rag between the scope and barrel.

Well this is how the rig shoots factory Hornady 40gr vmaxs. I kept the high bases and while the scope does sit a little high it sure does shoot nice. Not gonna bugger it up for a while.
