A buddy and I did the tour of our favorite stores this weekend - Sportsman's Warehouse, Bud's Gun Shop, and Glauber's Sporting Goods (LGS). I looked at this http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/prod ... .204+Scope thinking it might be a fun rifle for my son. The trigger wasn't bad but not great. The forearm is pretty skinny and contacted the barrel almost the entire length. The crown looked good and the bolt didn't look like it had been worked a whole lot. I'm looking to see what the differences are in the M77 line. I know it didn't have a tang safety.
What do you think about getting it as a project rifle? We'd have to bed it and float the barrel or maybe get a Boyd's for it but it would make a good father/son project.
Would this make a good "project" rifle?

If the price was right, it should make for a good rifle to play with. Bill K
