I am new to this forum and happy to see so many other 204 shooters. I use mine primarily for target and varmint (Coyote and Bobcat).
I was hoping to get some info on possibly using it for larger game.

Re: Hunting with a Remington700 VTR 204 ruger
Welcome!
It seems to me that the .204 is at its best with small varmints and predators such as coyotes, fox and bobcats for example. Can it kill a wild hog or deer? Sure, but that doesn't mean it's the best tool for the job. In some states, and LA is one, it's illegal to take deer with less than a .22 caliber cartridge.

Wow......nice groups!
As mentioned...biggest Game I've had the privelidge of shooting was Armadillo's and Coyotes so far....hoping for a Bobcat or Fox with this colder winter weather we're getting?
I think a shot placement right behind a Wild Feral Hogs ear would pretty well knock one down pretty fast?We have a few sightings in and around our County here in Missouri just waiting for the opportunity to arise and we'll see how well a .204 works on one?
Oh yeah....what State are You located in....? Ooops my Bad....just saw at the bottom of Your picture Your in Texas....there should be plenty of Hogs down there for You to see what a .204 will do to them!

I am heading out this weekend for some deer hunting, so I will take a model 94 30-30. wont really have to shoot more than 80 yards where I am going. But I will take the 204 to test it on a hog, just to see. will post pics here.

I have video of my wife shooting the VTR, and it shows some of the recoil and muzzle flash. I will post it if you guys are interested.
