Savage & Hornady?
I have read a couple places that they got in cahoots and coming out with something. Does anyone know or have a really good idea of what it might be?

Re: Savage & Hornady?
From what I know, it's the 17 Ackley Hornet, commercialized into the "17 Hornet" by Hornady. That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that it will probably come out in the Savage M25 at launch.
But if the round takes off, which it certainly will, other makers will most likely start production too. Look how the 17HMR took off, and this one is a CF and fully reloadable. Hornady already makes a full line of .17 cal bullets, and many have been shooting the 17AH for years with excellent success, so this should make for an excellent 350 yard rat rifle caliber.
I shoot the 17AH now, and just for comparison purposes, here's a 22 K-Hornet, 22 Hornet, and the 17 Ackley Hornet together:
Such a neat little round deserves a better home than a rough-finished rimfire action. Sako, Ruger, Cooper, CZ......are you listening?

Interesting indeed! What grain vmax are you shooting and what the fps? I would bring it out, not in a 25.
