my new .204

Post by griffshrek »

Hello all finally took the plunge and got rid of the .17hmr to fund a new .204 i used to love my little hummer .

I wanted a light rifle as it was going to be lugged about ,I got a REM mod 7 camo version with 22" barrel , I just researched some reloading data and got some RL 10 knocked up some rounds to just zero scope with 32 gr blitz kings
These were chronograph at 3950 fps and when zeroing managed sub inch @ 166 M so happy to start with.

I have done some ammo for a ladder test but not got round to it yet .

I have taken the rifle out and bagged crows ,pigeons and rabbits with spectacular results I cant believe how much the pigeons and crows explode .

yesterday went out and bagged a fox at 140m with a chest shot the fox did not move just collapsed without a twitch then spied a rabbit at about 300m I aimed for his head and squeezed the trigger , the hit was instant and saw the rabbit flop back on examination the round hit in the neck/shoulder not a lot of drop at the 300m

I am well chuffed with the little .204 its cheap to reload ,nice and flat shooting , devastating on varmints and no recoil .

I cant wait to get out again and not missing the hummer

griff: Welcome to the twenty caliber madness....it gets worse as you go along. But if you want to play in our sandbox, it's like Clint and Hedge said....you gotta dig out your digital camera and take pics of that new smokepole.

Don't take it personally.....we treat all newbies here with an equal dose of maltreatment, but it's all in fun (you know how the Gunny is...). Welcome to the club. :D

You don't list your location, but I've got a sneaking feeling you're in the UK.
