The new 204 is helping to clean up the few remaining foxes that have been refusing to come to the whistle. Set up another ambush yesterday afternoon and spotted this bushy tailed Red leaving the den and zig zagging his way across a field. A 32 grain vmax stopped him dead at 216 yards.
This fox had been ignoring the whistle so I had to wait him out. He is possibly to the sire to six young and mate of a vixen that have been culled from the same stand.
Back at the bone yard and laid beside the rifle, he is typical of the lean foxes from the area. With winter not too far away the foxes coats are beginning to thicken.
