When first deciding on the .204 Ruger, I had read online that it shoots better "off the lands" and even posted a question here about it - http://www.204ruger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8541 . So far I've only reloaded 32gr Nosler Varmint Tip and 39gr Sierra Blitzking and after going back over the reloading data, I noticed even with the same COAL measurements, the ogive to case base averaged about .030" shorter with the 39gr BK versus the 32gr VT - giving the more streamlined BK a longer "jump" to the lands than the Nosler. And the 39gr BK grouped better than the 32gr VT did at the range.
Just wondering if it's this longer jump or it's higher BC that makes it shoot better? Thanks.
Is this why the 39gr Blitzking is so accuarate?

When loading for my 204's i have found that they prefer the jump. When i set the bullet out close to the lands the accuracy declines for my rifles. I am sure others may have had different experiences.
