Hi all, First Post here on this site. I'm from South Jersey below the Mason Dixon Line "literally"
Having a good year so far. First three chucks with the Rem. 700 in 25.06.
It's been the go to gun for almost 30 yrs.
As the wind started to ease up, I switiched to the new CZ .204. I like not having the gun jump up off the chuck after the shot.
Shooting factory ammo for now 32 gr. Hornady V Max. On the very first one I shot at 181 yrd's I was holding top of the back like I would with the 25.
As it turned out I spined the chuck, he needed a second shot. The second time I held the same height and it went in the same spot.
Lesson learned, put it where you want it to go and let'em have it.
OH yea I've also got the second three with the .204
I,m liking the new CZ 527 .204

Welcome, VZ. Yep, it's hard to resist the urge to hold high at longer ranges with the laser-beam .204; most of my misses with it have been ones that went over the varmint. I zero an inch high @ 100 yards and it's good to go on groundhogs out to 300 yards with no holdover or turret dialing.

I really don't mind the extended mag.
For chucks I only load one round at a time anyway.
I might get one of those Calhoon single shot followers for chuck hunting.
If I take it to PA for coyotes I'll load up the mag.
