2. It adds character.
3. It identifies the shade as "mine".
4. It means the shooting was so hot......(it was! I'm usually purty dang careful about stuff like that )

Yep, a nice .224" nick from a Nosler 50gr BT at 3,780 fps out of my custom M700 223 Ackley will do that. THAT target squirrel got a hall pass that afternoon. Now when I set that shade up at a squirrel or PD shoot, everyone knows it's a "veteran sunshade".
