Down home Squirrel shoot.
With the strange weather this year I have been able to hunt later in the season. I have invested in some new snake chaps and am walking with new confidence through the grass covered hills around here. Here is some handy work of the 17 HMR at about 175 yrds. I also shot the snake with the 17 hmr at about 80 yrds as soon as I can get the pictures from my phone to the computer I will show you some nice snake pictures.

His hide is in the freezer right now the birds are feasting on the rest. I don't like wearing the chaps but they are stiff but to go into the weeds with out them is too much of a risk.

While walking the hills through the boulders you run into multiple snake sheds in one area you know you have to step lightly.

Re: Down home Squirrel shoot.
I know the the rifle isn't a 204 but the noise of the 204 draws to much attension. So I resorted to a savage 93 in 17hmr which also is easer on the ears and lighter weight. This rifle has a plastic stock but works realy well the scope is one of the Center Point 4x16 power sold at wall Mart for $69 dollars these are great scopes for the money the target turrets are most needed with the rim fire callibers I have them on all my rim fire guns and have made some amazingly long shots with them.

Looks like fun, except for the snakes of course! Looks like good bobcat country, do you have any there? 17 HMRs are great sage rat medicine.
Please, no Sidewinder today!

Yeah we have Bob cats Puma's and Bears. The hunting area is rugged in most places but its all there if you work at it.
